Founders, Bibi Cornejo & Karen Dayana Castano both grew up in New York, and have been friends and collaborators for over eight years. Karen, inspired by her grandmother, who instilled within her, a passion for design, attended the fashion institute to study shoe design. while studying, Karen developed a deep appreciation and knowledge of fabrics, finishes and construction. she launched her eponymous line of women’s shoes which feature investment-worthy pieces that align with her approach to effortless style. Bibi, surrounded by cameras her entire life, decided to turn her love of imagery into a career. she is a self-taught film photographer who has worked with notable brands and subjects within fashion and music. she continues to explore different mediums of innovative film processes, that create unique and natural imagery. her work plays off of her interest in subtleties and nuances. in addition to her budding photography career, Bibi also dedicates her time and efforts to charitable ventures, working with children in Africa. growing up in New York inspired both young entrepreneurs to pursue careers within creative industries. they were always inspired by the cities diverse and culturally rich communities, and wanted to translate their passion for art and design into a business that gives back to the next generation of children, to help them reach their full potential. the concept of bellies was a passion that has now become a reality. with the launch of bellies, they hope to make creative opportunities available and achievable to every child in America
